Coaching & Mentoring
Coaching is a structured process to help you figure out what you really want in your professional life. As a coach, Glynis can support you to identify the changes you want to make and help you to make them. She is also able to review CPD cycles and advise on forward planning for future CPD activities. She will do this with a flair and passion that will give you a confidence and joy in developing your osteopathic practice.
Day to day support
Sometimes we simply need to talk through what we are experiencing. This could be an opportunity to sound out your ideas in a safe supportive space. As an Osteopath herself Glynis is able to offer an empathy to explore issues that you are facing.
Working so far away from London I am aware of how easily it is for practitioners to become isolated from the greater part of the osteopathic community.
Talking things over in your mind and not getting answers that take you forward ? I will work with you, helping you establish what you want your goals to be. I believe very strongly that we each need to discover what works for us, and I use my facilitation skills to help you do this.
I usually work with you for six sessions, over 3-6 months. Each session lasts 1 hour, and we meet every 2-4 weeks. The sessions can be over the phone, on Skype, or face to face.
The first session is spent developing a goal that truly inspires you, based on where you are right now, and where you would like to be in the next twelve months to five years.
Subsequent sessions are spent developing that vision; breaking it down to better understand the challenges and obstacles that may be preventing you from achieving it; and developing sustainable strategies to help you tackle them.
With this caring, supportive and confidential service you can plan changes in your practice.
Coaching sessions should be seen as a safe space to reflect on clinical issues or plan your next step.
Three Year CPD Review
The new CPD scheme heightens the importance for established practitioners to collaborate and offer support and guidance to each other and to newer graduates. As an osteopath coach I can provide you with support and structure to work out the best plan for your continuing professional development.
Reviewing your CPD
Why you made those choices?
How satisfied are you with your choices?
How has it benefitted your practice?
What has been of most benefit?
Do you have a clear framework?
What do you want your next steps to be?
What are your goals?
Where would you like to be in three years time?
I firmly believe osteopathy is lucky to have individuals like Glynis and, having already recommended a mentorship with Glynis to a friend I would not hesitate to do so again.
I particularly recommend Glynis for her calm and focused approach to any situation, her ability to motivate osteopaths to thrive in their own practice and draw osteopaths together to become part of a diverse yet unified bigger picture.
